This stoneware and porcelain flower brick is a modern interpretation of a traditional form. I wanted to make a flower brick that is architectural with emphasis on linear lines in the surface design. Colored porcelain is painted and printed on dark stoneware with hues reflecting the atmospheric qualities of clouds and sky. A juxtaposition of contrasting color and textural elements.
Wheel thrown and altered form, hand painted mono-print with colored porcelain and glazes. White glazed interior with an exterior of bare and glazed panels in a glossy finish.
